Sui Ishida's Tokyo Ghoul & Tokyo Ghoul:re To Print 24 Million Copies!

Mangaka Sui Ishida's Tokyo Ghoul and Tokyo Ghoul:re manga series have a combined 24 million copies in print. The information was revealed in current year's 28th issue of Shuesha's Weekly Young Jump magazine.

Tokyo Ghoul manga was serialized from 2011 to 2014 in Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump. The magazine is now serializing Tokyo Ghoul:re as well. The 11th volume of Tokyo Ghoul:re was published on Monday, while the 12th volume is set to release on 19th of July.


Shueisha had published nine volumes of Tokyo Ghoul:re till now. As of March 9, the manga had a combined 22 million copies in print. Viz Media is planning to release Tokyo Ghoul:re sequel series starting this fall. Viz Media is also releasing the original Tokyo Ghoul manga in English and it will publish the 13th volume on Tuesday.


Tokyo Ghoul inspired two anime series, several original video anime projects, PlayStation Vita and smartphone games, and a stage play. A live-action film adaptation is set for wide release in Japan on July 29.
