The Devil is a Part-Timer! Manga Nears Its End


Akio Hiiragi's manga adaptation of Satoshi Wagahara's light novel, "The Devil is a Part-Timer" is entering its end in the magazine's next issue on September 26, 2020. Kadokawa's Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh announced it on Thursday on their October issue.


The story is about a demon king named Sadao Maou seeking to conquer the world of Ente Isla, but when confronted by the Hero Emilia, he is forced to retreat through a gate that transports him to modern-day Tokyo, Japan. To survive and find a way to return to Ente Isla, Satan gains part-time employment at a fast-food restaurant called MgRonald.


The manga started as a light novel series written by Satoshi Wagahara and illustrated by the artist 029 (Oniku) on February 10, 2011, with 21 main novels, two prequel novel, one spin-off novel, and three bonus novels by the series conclusion. The final novel was published on August 7, 2020.


The manga adaptation is illustrated by Akio Hiiragi and started serialization in the February 2012 issue of ASCII Media Works' shōnen manga magazine Dengeki Daioh. The first tankōbon volume was published on June 27, 2012.

A 13-episode TV anime adaptation of The Devil Is a Part-Timer!, aired from April 4, 2013, to June 27, 2013. It was directed by Naoto Hosoda and produced by White Fox.
