New Membership Tiers Of Crunchyroll Streaming Services!

With the shutdown of KissAnime and a potential attack on other pirated sites, Anime fans are turning to other Anime streaming services like Netflix, Amazon prime and Crunchyroll. However the Netflix library is very less compared to Crunchyroll and Amazon prime is nowhere near the picture, it is more likely that people will go for Crunchyroll, with the added benefit of low cost. Estimating the increase in traffic to it’s streaming services, Crunchyroll announced new membership tiers on Monday, August 24. The website will now have 4 tiers for the US audience and 3 tiers for other English speaking countries. The tiers are categorized as Free, Fan, Mega Fan and Ultimate Fan. Ultimate Fan will be only available in the US.
The Free tier is a basic plan and will continue to require no payments and will have advertisements. The new episodes of the shows will be released for Free tier after one week of their premieres.
The Fan tier will cost $7.99 USD or similar price outside the US per month. This tier has no advertisements and all the new episodes will be available as they premier.
The Mega Fan tier costs around $9.99 and includes all features from Fan tier. In addition, this tier will enable users to watch shows offline and access to 4 streams at a time.
The Ultimate Fan tier will cost $14.99 and will feature offline viewing and access to 6 streams at a time. In addition to those, members will get Ultimate fan swag bag and other exclusive merchandise.
Crunchyroll surpassed 3 million subs and 76 million registered users on June 28. The website received $4.05 million in its first-round funding from Venrock and began licensing for streaming in 2008. The variety news reported that AT & T has set an asking price of $1 billion at the least for its sale of Crunchyroll. However, the deal is yet to be sealed.
