The Ghibli Museum's official website announced that it has planned the reopening of the Museum in September, with tickets available for purchase beginning from August 25.
The museum first began to reopen in mid-July, with the aim of reopening in September. It allowed only the local residents of the city to purchase the tickets in limited and random drawings. As the Museum reopens, visitors will be limited one at a time and limiting the operating hours to decrease the risk of COVID-19.
The museum closed its doors on February 25 due to COVID-19. Even as it reopens, the museum has planned to close again in November and December for facility maintenance. It plans to resume the operations fully in the new year.
The museum showcases the work of the Japanese animation studio, Studio Ghibli. It is located in Mitaka City, a western city in Tokyo.
