Eiichiro Oda falls sick, One Piece on halt!

Shueisha Company’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine’s official Twitter account released an updated statement on Friday about the creator of One Piece, Eiichiro Oda’s health and the upcoming chapter of One Piece.

The Twitter account revealed that the 44th issue of Weekly Shonen Jump will not be featuring One Piece manga’s next chapter in its next edition shipping on Monday. In addition to this statement, the editorial department revealed the reason behind that, stating that manga is taking a break due to Oda’s ‘sudden illness’ and unfavourable health. The statement from the department added that Oda is recovering and the next chapter of manga will be returning in the 46th edition of Shonen Jump magazine which will ship on October 17th.

One Piece is the longest-running manga series from legendary mangaka Eiichiro Oda which began serializing in 1997 and is still in its overwhelming successful run. As of now, manga has printed around 470 million copies worldwide. Eiichiro Oda has also claimed in a recent interview that he is planning to end the manga in not more than 4 to 5 years.

It must be mentioned that Oda had previously told his fans that several delays can be witnessed in the releases of further chapters of One Piece as his staff would be busy in reorganizing their workplace to regulate the social distancing following the Covid-19 guidelines.
