Dr. Stone Anime 2nd Season Promo Video is Out, Special Trailer on Sunday's Jump Special Anime Festa

The official twitter account for the Dr. Stone TV anime began streaming a teaser trailer today. In the trailer, it also announced that "the eve of the decisive battle special trailer" for the second season of Dr.Stone will be released on Sunday during Jump Special Anime Festa 2020. It will be held virtually on the official Jump YouTube channel from 1 pm to 4 pm on October 11 (JST).


The official live-stream page for the event has already been put onto YouTube, counting down the hours before the festival starts on the platform.


The second season of Dr. Stone: Stone Wars, will premiere in January 2021. Crunchyroll will stream the series worldwide except in Asia, and Funimation will stream a dub.

The first season of the anime aired from July 5 to December 13, 2019, with 24-episodes.

Written by Riichiro Inagaki and illustrated by Boichi, Dr. Stone was launched in the 14th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump on March 6, 2017.

Viz Media is publishing the manga digitally and in print, and it describes the manga's first volume:

"One fateful day, all of humanity was petrified by a blinding flash of light. After several millennia, high schooler Taiju awakens and finds himself lost in a world of statues. However, he's not alone! His science-loving friend Senku's been up and running for a few months and he's got a grand plan in mind—to kickstart civilization with the power of science!"
