Demon Slayer: Mugen Train, The Fastest Film to Cross 10 Billion Yen in Japanese Box Office History

The Demon Slayer: Kimitsu no Yaiba The Movie Mugen Train continues to break records since its release on October 16, 2020. It has now crossed the 10 billion yen mark in just 10 days, making it the fastest film to do so in Japanese box office history.
The film has made 1.509 billion yen (US$14.3 million) on Saturday with 1.12 million people watching the film, and on Sunday grossed 1.540 billion yen (US$14.6 million) on the admission of 1.16 million people, making the total for the weekend coming to 3.135 billion yen (US$29.8 million) with 2.28 million people going to the cinema to watch Demon Slayer: Mugen Train. The film now holds the records for the best weekend, the second-best weekend(behind the anime film's own opening weekend last week), and the best second weekend at the Japanese box office.
The film has grossed a total of 10.75 billion yen (US$102.46 million) on the 10th day of its release, with approximately 7.8 million having seen the anime film.
In comparison, it has even surpassed Spirited Away's 19-year record of being the fastest film to reach 10 billion yen. Spirited away reached the mark in 25 days. Your Name reached in 28 days, and Weathering With You reached in 34 days.
Demon Slayer: Mugen Train is on course to overtake Spirited Away's final gross of 30.4 billion yen (US$293.6 million) as there is not much competition in Japanese theatres until Stand by Me Doraemon 2 releases on November 20.
