TOHO revealed the title and April 23 opening date for the 29th film in the Crayon Shin-chan franchise on Monday. The film is titled Eiga Crayon Shin-chan Nazo Meki! Hana no Tenkasu Gakuen (Crayon Shin-chan the Movie - Shrouded in Mystery! The Flowers of Tenkazu Academy). TOHO unveiled the visual and a trailer for the film.

The story begins with Shinnosuke and friends experiencing a one-week stay as part of the "defence force" of Tenkatōitsu Kasukabe Private Academy (nicknamed "Tenkasu"), an elite boarding school that is administrated by a state-of-the-art AI. But when Kazama is attacked, with his intelligence reduced, and strange bite marks left on his butt, the mood begins to change. The Kasukabe defence force joins forces with the school's dropout student council president Chishio Atsuki to form a group of detectives and shed some light on the mystery.

Wataru Takahashi, who had previously directed many of Crayon Shin-chan films, is returning again as the director. Kimiko Ueno also returning from last year's Eiga Crayon Shin-chan Shinkon Ryokō Hurricane and previous films as the scriptwriter.

Tickets for the film will be open for sale in advance from December 25 at screening theatres in Japan. The people purchasing the tickets will get a special handkerchief which has the design of Shin-chan's Kasukabe Defence Corps when it gets soaked in water.
