Comic Con India is hosting Fandom Month, Comics 101! A special workshop which will focus on teaching the complete process of comic creation. The workshop will be held at Rasta Bombay, Khar; by popular comic creators Abhijeet Kini and Akshay Dhar on 20th August from 12 pm to 2 pm. The workshop is open for all and is free of cost.

Abhijeet Kini and Akshay Dhar will cover the entire comic creation process, right from ideation to script to art through a slideshow presentation. After the presentation Abhijeet and Akshay will conduct a practical exercise, and along with the attendees they will create a short comic of their own. The workshop will be an informal and interactive session. Both the hosts will try to keep the session as fun and lively as possible.

About Akshay Dhar - Akshay Dhar is Co-founder of Meta-Desi Comics Presents and a writer, a music and nature lover, (attempted) humourist, nerd, scribbler, day-dreamer, arm-chair philosopher and random road-tripper… A strangely hopeful cynic first and foremost from all accounts. Once a young geek-ling who migrated and “matured” from comics to literature and more esoteric reading and ideas – eventually found his way back to the wonderful worlds that come from putting a dreamers’ pen to paper! Loves to let his mind wander and at times it takes forever to find its way home. Loves all comics so long as they are not just pretty pictures – but will make exceptions for masters like Geof Darrow and J.H.Williams III.

About Abhijeet Kini - Abhijeet Kini, founder of Abhijeet Kini Merch, is an independent comics publisher, whose comic catalogue includes the popular Angry Maushi comic series. He has been into magazine and newspaper illustrations since 1999, freelancing from back in his college days, with publications like Mid-Day, Timesgroup, etc. He is a regular illustrator with Tinkle comics, working on famous characters like Butterfingers, Defective Detectives and SuperWeirdos. Some other publications that feature his works are Timeout Mumbai, Comic Con India and of course, HT Brunch, among others. Abhijeet is a regular participant in Comic Cons in India as well as abroad. He along with his wife run Kini Merch, a line of collectibles. And when he is not drawing and sketching, you can find Abhijeet strumming away his electric guitar and jamming with his band mates.

Comic Con India announced the event on Thursday through their official Facebook page. So far around 142 people have shown interest in attending the event, while 53 people have given a confirmation by clicking the going button on the event created on their official page.
