Popular Manga artist Chihiro Gokitsune recently revealed his plans to launch a new Beyblade manga series. Gokitsune announced the title as Beyblade Soul Taku & Shō on Twitter. The gag manga series will premiere in the June issue of Shogakukan's Corocoro Ichiban! magazine. The lead characters of the series, Taku and Shō, are based on a pair of real-life 'Bladers' who appear at tournaments and on Beyblade segments of Sho-Pro and TV Tokyo's 'OhaSta' morning variety program.

Beyblade manga series was inspired from Takara Tomy's Beyblade line of toys in 2000-2003. Viz Media released the 14-volume series in North America in 2004-2006. Gokitsune previously worked on the Kamiwaza Wanda manga, which launched in the Corocoro Ichiban! magazine in March 2016. Shogakukan will publish the final compiled volume on April 28.
